Extreme Force, starring the charismatic kenpo karate expert Hector Echavarria and well-known martial artist Michel Qissi (a.k.a. "Tong Po," the enemy of Jean Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer 1), is the latest film to be produced by Buena Vida Productions of Orlando, Florida. The film follows the adventures of Marcos DeSantos, masterfully played by Echavarria, along an action-packed trail of murder, betrayal, seduction and international espionage. The intense yet sensitive Marcos is transformed from thief to hero in his quest to avenge a personal betrayal and to restore the sacred seal of Mongolia to its rightful owner. Moving easily from the luxuriant world of the political and financial elite to the down and dirty world of strip clubs and mafioso card parlors, Marcos joins forces with the fierce Mongolian Kong Li in the pursuit of his one-time collaborator, Cole, and the stolen seal.
Michel Qissi's portrayal of Kong Li as the noble warrior whose ancestral pride runs to the core of his very being surpasses all expectations. Youssef Qissi provides an equally impressive performance as Cole, the quintessential criminal mind, as bereft of humanity as his sharply shaven head is of hair. Living on the edge, Cole's addiction to sex and the high life is paralleled only by his brooding obsession with his former friend Marcos. As Cole rends his way uncontrollably towards a violent end, Marcos discovers a true kinship with his former enemy, Kong Li.
Filmgoers will appreciate the brutal realism of the karate as Marcos and Kong Li relentlessly pursue a common goal and battle their way to honor. Plenty of well-choreographed fight scenes, combined with the occasional interjection of comic relief and the appearance of the many beautiful women in the movie, ensure that this film will become a classic for the action-adventure aficionado.
